Who is Sathya Sai Baba?

Sathya Sai Baba is highly revered as an embodiment of unconditional, divine love and a world teacher, whose life and message inspires millions of people across the globe to lead more purposeful and value-integrated lives. His timeless and universal teachings of love, unity and service to fellow beings, along with the manner in which he led his own life, attract people who seek true peace and happiness. Although people come from all the religions of the world, he does not profess a new religion nor has intended to do so. Instead, he urges everyone to continue to follow the religion of our choice and/or upbringing.

“Let the different faiths exist, let them flourish, and let the glory of God be sung in all the languages and a variety of tunes. That should be the ideal. Respect the differences between the faiths and recognize them as valid as long as they do not extinguish the flame of unity.” – Sathya Sai Baba

His teachings

Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings are primarily based on the five human values. These values are the underlying principles of all the service programmes he has undertaken and all the institutions that he established. Sai Baba has also emphasised that we should live our daily lives in conjunction with the five human values, which are:

  1. Sathya – Truth
  2. Dharma – Right conduct
  3. Shanthi – Peace
  4. Prema – Love
  5. Ahimsa – Non-violence

Service projects

Based on His motto, ‘Love All, Serve All’, the numerous service programmes started by Baba – be it free hospitals, free schools and colleges, free drinking water supply projects, free housing projects, free disaster relief and other humanitarian programmes – all stand in testimony to His selfless love and compassion for the needy and less privileged. True to His declaration, “My Life is My Message”, He has inspired and continues to inspire millions of His devotees worldwide by His personal example to live the ideal that “Service to man is service to God.” To find out more about Sathya Sai Baba and the Sathya Sai International Organisation UK (SSIOUK), click on the following link:
